Ear Wax Removal
We will examine your ears using a video otoscope so you can see what your ear canal looks like before and after the wax removal.

​Microsuction will then be performed using a very fine sterile suction device at low pressure to remove the wax. It is extremely safe and effective and can be used on people with perforations and mastoid cavities.
We will be wearing binocular microscopes so we can see the precise placement of the device in the ear canal and the progress of the wax removal. Manual instruments may also be used depending on the consistency of the wax, but we will discuss this during your consultation.

This process can take anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes.

Ear Health Consultation
Just like your teeth and eyes, it’s important to regularly check the health of your ears. During this appointment we will discuss your ear health history and together we will make a plan as to how to look after your ears moving forwards.
This may include your level of noise exposure and frequency of wax removal. We will also discuss how to look out for signs of a hearing loss and when the right time is to think about hearing aids.

Video otoscopy will be performed so you can see the inside of your own ear canal whilst we explain the level of health of your ears.

Hearing Test
We perform hearing tests by using two different headphones in order to test the hearing ability of the outer, middle and inner ear. All you need to do is press a button when you hear a sound.
Afterwards we will explain your results and using the latest methods we can demonstrate if and how well you would benefit from hearing aids.
